Floating Oyster Shacks

May 08, 2020  •  3 Comments
Slowly but surely I'm becoming a New Englander. It's a slow process (even though collectively I've spent a couple of decades living in New England). There are a lot of subtleties. Each location has its uniqueness. Today I learned that the floating shacks in Duxbury Harbor are used by oystermen. The main clue was one floating shack that actually had...

Best Donuts Evah

It's not like I'm in search of the perfect donut but...I just happened to have stumbled upon the most orgasmic donut experience of my life yesterday while driving around (in safe Coronavirus isolation) Middletown, Rhode Island on a gray skied windy day. I got the hot tip about Ma's Donuts and More from a friend who lives in Rhode Island. It was the...

Waiting For Summer

Reality - going to the ocean frequently and checking out the waterfront is what is keeping myself and others sane during the COVID-19 outbreak here in Plymouth. Today's waterfront scene took me totally by surprise with the tropical turquoise ocean colors, the prettiest blue sky complete with white poofy clouds, and Long Beach's sand dunes with tree...

Duck Comedy

Spring for me is the most exciting time of year to be outdoors. Usually, it's the burst of yellow from Forsythia bushes, along with the hits of yellows, whites, purples, and pinks from bulbs emerging from the ground with their much-welcomed fowers that makes me smile and erase my winter blues. But, just last week I had a Spring first! Hanging out a...

Tropical Plant Names & Cocktails

March 10, 2020  •  Leave a Comment
I have to be honest with you, researching the names of tropical plants can be very entertaining because some of them are named after tropical bar drinks! Of course, each plant has its Latin scientific name but that's NOT entertaining. I won't remember all of the Latin names to all of the flowers and plants I photograph. But, I MOST definitely will...

Sea of Cranberries

Timing is everything when trying to find a flooded cranberry bog! I waited for a few days for the rainy weather to clear out so I could jump into my car on a crisp clear blue sky Fall day to see if I could find a local flooded cranberry bog to shoot. Within 15 minutes en route, one of the biggest cranberry growers in Carver, MA were harvesting a f...

Apple Orchard Birthday

October 14, 2019  •  Leave a Comment
The way I love to spend my birthday is being outdoors shooting nature. This October I chose to go to an apple orchard in Harvard, Massachusetts to try and capture the beauty of fresh apples on the tree. After a week of rain, the sky was a beautiful blue that made it so inviting to look up through the apple trees and approach capturing the beauty of...

Cranberry Time In New England

September 16, 2019  •  Leave a Comment
With the cooling New England temperatures these days, cranberries growing on the vine are turning their beautiful shades of crimson red. I had the pleasure of visiting a few different cranberry bogs in Carver, MA this past weekend. The skies were overcast with white puffy clouds and once in a while, the afternoon sun would peak out. It was perfect...

A back alley find in Linz

July 25, 2019  •  Leave a Comment
I've always found that some of my best images are found in the back alleys of cities I visit. Spending a few hours walking around Linz, Austria I decided to check out this narrow alley. And there it was...this beautiful stack of clay roof tiles with cement placed in between the tiles creating exciting new patterns for me to shoot!

Mother's Day 2019

Today I was surprised with this gorgeous bouquet of flowers from my daughter for Mother's Day! There aren't enough words to describe how joyous I am feeling right now. The beauty of the soft pale pink roses combined with the magnificence of the purple stock and budded pink alstroemeria leaves me speechless. Mother Nature is amazing in all of her gr...
